Psychedelic
Preparation &
Integration

Maybe you're preparing for a plant medicine or psychedelic experience and want to approach it intentionally.

Or maybe you've already had an experience that touched something in you, and you want to work with what you learned.

You may be wondering:

What was that experience trying to show me?
How do I make sense of what happened?
How do I bring what I learned into my actual life?
How do I make the changes I know I want to make?

This is the work of integration.

I help people prepare for and integrate plant medicine and psychedelic experiences. I teach you how to capture what the medicine reveals. Together, we explore what the experience revealed, recognize patterns and insights, and work with what emerged so you can bring it into your life.

Integration is more than talking about what happened.

We may explore the emotions, beliefs, patterns, directives, and questions that arose during your experience. We discern what insights matter, and look at what you want to carry forward, what you want to change, and what your experience may be revealing about the life you're living.

About Melissa DeJoseph

I'm Melissa, a psychedelic integration guide, breathwork facilitator, and somatic facilitator. For 16 years, I've been devoted to my spiritual practice through plant medicines and the shamanic arts. The plants and spirits have been my greatest teachers and allies, helping me develop patience and compassion to meet daily life, which is where the real work of integration happens. Before I discovered plant medicine, I spent years living with self-loathing, body dysmorphia, and binge eating- trying to change myself from the outside with punishing workouts and strict diets. I had exhausted what talk therapy could offer me, and I was still stuck. One therapist told me I had everything I needed inside myself. I thought she had no idea what she was talking about. Eventually I followed a series of synchronicities to Blue Morpho Retreat Center, where I was introduced to Amazonian plant medicine traditions from the lineage of Maestro Julio Lleredo Pineda. That was the beginning of a new relationship with my body and myself, and I continue to study in don Julio's lineage today. Surviving cancer three times has also taught me a great deal about fear, uncertainty, and learning to trust life. Today I work with people who are preparing for and making sense of a psychedelic or plant medicine experience, or who want to feel more at home in their bodies. I've come to see that therapist was right- we all have everything we need inside of ourselves. And that is the heart of integration and somatic work: not fixing you or handing you answers, but working with what's already inside of you. Our work together centers on the revelations and material that come through your medicine experience, and on the intentions you bring into one. We explore it through practices such as grounding into your body and creating awareness, deep listening and reflection, and sanctuary practice- all with a steady presence and at a pace that feels right for you. Work with me

“Melissa has been very supportive, enthusiastic, and nonjudgemental, which naturally created a safe container to let me 'be' without shame or guilt. That sense of safety allowed me to go deeper into my own somatic process, as she gently guided without forcing or imposing. Our work together has helped me to allow myself to feel without judgement, thus I'm not escaping through the use of cannabis or other distraction mechanisms I had used in the past. As a result of our work together i’m more able to feel and handle my own emotions.“
